About us

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority, and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.

The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 per cent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.

About the role

The Project Officer will be part of a dedicated team that has oversight over projects across the jurisdiction, and accountable for the operationalising, delivering and maintaining governance across project management, and the broader MCV strategy.

As a Project Officer within the Strategy Branch, you will work in collaboration with key court staff, the judiciary and other critical project staff to ensure strategic outcomes are achieved. This will be done through effective governance and aiding various project deliveries.

About you

  • Project Management: You have a demonstrated understanding of project management methodology, standards and frameworks and experience in the delivery of projects.
  • Detail and delivery focus: You have the ability to observe fine details; identify gaps in information; look for logical sequences of information; highlight practical considerations of plans and activities, and have excellent communications skills.
  • Flexibility: You are adaptable; open to new ideas; accepting of changed priorities without undue discomfort; recognise the merits of different options and act accordingly.
  • Relationship building: You establish and maintain relationships with people at all levels; promote harmony and consensus through diplomatic handling of disagreements; forge useful partnerships with people across business areas, functions and organisations; build trust through consistent actions, values and communication; minimise surprises.
