We are looking for an immediate, full-time, permanent position in APAC at Taipei, Taiwan.
Job Purpose:
Develop and implement legal processes and procedures to identify and mitigate legal risks and protect DPDHL's legal and business interests in line with business needs, established legal framework, standards, applicable laws and regulations; apply advanced legal knowledge typically obtained through advanced education and work experience; manage legal processes and perform independently with limited supervision.
Your tasks:
- Provide general legal advice and legal support to all business units in TW, and advise business colleagues the legal risks of proposed business activities, practices and transactions;
- Review, draft and negotiate legal contracts, letters of agreement, and other documents related to commercial, financial, and operational matters, i.e. service agreement, purchase agreements, lease agreement, employment, to protect the organization’s legal and business interests;
- Deliver legal awareness training to business units;
- Support business units to manage litigation and legal proceedings before courts, government agencies, or other authorities to protect organization's interests; represent business units in litigation and legal proceedings before courts and government authorities as deemed necessary;
- Keep the contract templates and other legal documents applicable to local businesses updated in line with company policies and guidelines;
- Support to implement global legal strategy/tool at a country level in order to ensure effective use of common tools and consistent reporting;
- Perform other legal duties as assigned.
Your profile:
- Education Level: (i) Taiwan bar required; (ii) local law degree (LLB) required; (iii) master law degree in local/foreign law school (LLM) a plus; (iv) Foreign bar a plus
- Experience Level: At least 4 years in house counsel, or at least 3 years legal practice in tier 1-2 law firms in Taiwan
- Commercial pragmatism, ability to apply legal knowledge and expertise into business environment;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin, good written and verbal communication level in English, fluent communication in Taiwanese (optional);
- Independent and confident with strong analytical skills
