Are you interested in helping people with disabilities to improve their quality of life by creating individualised strategies that are designed to reduce destructive behaviours, such as self-harm, aggression or property destruction?
You will work with a diverse range of patients, who usually suffer from cognitive disabilities, resulting in behaviours that are of concern to both carers and the patient’s family.
Qualification / Licence:
1- Certificate IV in Disability/ Ageing / Certificate 3 Ageing / Disability
and / or
2- Registered Counsellor
Required:
- Driver Licence
- First Aid Certification
- Working with Children Check
- National Police Certificate
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
- Build rapport and collaborate effectively with staff/management, participants, their family, and friends to achieve a positive outcome and ensure a smooth service delivery flow throughout the participants' plan.
- Assist with liaising with participants' families and friends to explore new goals, ambitions, promote and empower participants to achieve their goals and provide a medium of solid communication.
- Increase participants skills with your active support and promote independence by enhancing their skills and personal development.
- Provide quality and professional support in line with participants plans, needs, and wants.
- Assisting participants with accessing their social community to engage with their friends and social groups to promote a healthier lifestyle.
- Implement strategies and programs to develop/enhance participant skills, identify areas of increased support and opportunities for services to help achieve their goals.
- Shifts that are available range from Monday through to Sunday. Timings of shifts may vary. Shifts may range from minimum 2 hours to 8 hours.

Part-time hours: 20 per week
Salary: $28.67 – $36.83 per hour
