The P&O Head for Royal Canin DACH (Germany/Austria/Switzerland) provides proactive thought partnership in shaping the business strategic objectives and driving business success in alignment with the Mars Five Principles across the respective countries. Critical aspects of this role are developing talent and the overall organizational health, leading transformational changes, deploying the people agenda, and ensuring global & regional initiatives are implemented accordingly. Additionally, this role drives effective and efficient P&O solutions that support business units and position associates for success by adopting our Mars Signature programs.

What will be your key responsibilities?

Leadership

    Lead and supports the business unit by proactively monitoring and interpreting the industry landscape and emerging trends and insights to shape the business strategy and deliver a P&O agenda that aligns Mars signature culture and behaviors with the delivery of business goals and the achievement of key performance indicators
  • Lead and manage P&O programs for business units, influence the design and implementation of P&O initiatives to meet business needs, and advise senior business leaders on people matters, while always maintaining a focus on associate advocacy and the people agenda

Talent & Organizational Health

  • Champion talent development processes and develop a talent pipeline that positions the business for short and long-term success while ensuring that the right people are always in the right roles. Leverage CoEs to develop solutions to address capability gaps and key talent needs.
  • Counsel senior business leaders on talent and organizational matters
  • Ensure that organization development supports the business strategy and any changes implemented are aligned with The Five Principles and other global principles such as Organizing at Mars and the Associate Concep

Culture

  • Ensure strong cultural onboarding and role-model Five Principles
  • Champion Inclusion & Diversity across the DACH cluster by leveraging Global Roadmap and supporting Line Manager in bringing it to live
  • Enhance Associate’s Health & well-being driving a One Mars agenda and with the support of the Health & Wellbeing Community
  • Responsible to deliver a consistent “One Mars” experience that places the required importance on the various roles throughout the organization, including the MAS, CoE, Business Partners, Line Managers, and associates
  • Encourage Line Managers to interact directly with the MAS on a range of topics and escalate to P&O Business Partners when appropriate
  • Participate in / lead regional / business unit P&O meetings to set strategy, drive innovation, develop plans, manage P&O operations, and resolve critical issues

What are we looking for?

  • extensive experience as an HR generalist/HR Business Partner

  • Experience with global corporations including having the ability to translate global programs into locally suitable solutions.

  • Strong consulting skills and ability to leverage expertise to design and deploy impactful people solutions.

  • Strong business acumen and experience

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently, with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong analytical, consultation skills, coaching, and problem-solving

  • Must be able to demonstrate strong verbal written communication in German and English
