Job Description


The Technical Delivery Lead is responsible for ensuring technical products defined by our Delivery Managers are delivered to an appropriate quality, in a timescale and at a cost acceptable to the Project Board. The Technical Delivery Lead reports to and takes direction from the Project Manager.

The technical team is defined as all technical resources who are contributors to the project;

  • Project Technical Team members
  • ITS Technical Teams providing technical expertise and/or service to the project e.g. Storage, IPNS, Server teams
  • Other business units providing technical expertise and/or service to the project e.g. ESBN including Telecom Service, ESB Telecoms Ltd. etc
  • 3rd Party Technical Teams e.g. Vendor, Contractors

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall system environment management across all work packages

  • Prepare and manage a technical plan detailing the activities and deliverables of the technical team and agree these with Delivery Managers
  • Deliver technical landscape in accordance with an agreed design from the project/ Solution Integrity
  • Implement the appropriate system infrastructure to support the project and subsequent production landscape for handover to Service Delivery as part of Technical Transition
  • Work alongside all other project and technical leads to ensure all ITS technical products are delivered to appropriate quality, timescale and cost
  • Coordinate and manage the activities and deliverables of all technical project tasks; and record same in project action logs
  • Arrange and lead team checkpoint meetings and produce checkpoint reports as agreed with Delivery Managers
  • Advise Delivery Managers of any deviations from plan, recommend corrective action and help prepare any appropriate exception plans
  • Attend weekly meetings as required e.g. team meetings, design triage, design forum etc.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the evaluation of design notes and related change impact/ risk/ issue assessments
  • Ensure all project technical risks, issues and assumptions are recorded in the RAID log, evaluated and mitigated against as appropriate; with recommendations proposed to Delivery Managers
  • Manage specific risks as directed by the Delivery Managers
  • Ensure all project defects are recorded in the defect log
  • Ensure all project change requests are recorded and managed as per the change request process; including review of all changes with the project/ Solution Integrity
  • Direct and monitor the technical team’s work
  • Take responsibility for the progress of the technical team’s work and use of team resources
  • Ensure that quality controls of the technical team’s work are planned and performed correctly
  • Provide support and knowledge transfer to technical team members
  • Active attendance and engagement at workshops/meetings where required
  • Responsible for the overall system environment management across all work packages.

Qualifications
  • Experienced in delivering technical components in major projects
  • Knowledgeable of impacted landscape
  • Knowledgeable of Network / Firewall and Infrastructure set up
  • Effective communication skills to relate required plans/ executions and changes to them
  • Project Management skillset and effective management of resources to deliver plans
  • Due to the nature of the role it may require some occasional out of office hours work

This job requires the employee to work from the office once a week, hence Dublin based candidate is essential
