The CIC Infrastructure Management team are responsible for the IT Infrastructure in Aker BP, onshore and offshore. We are looking for an Infrastructure Service Manager responsible for the IT Exploration and Reservoir Services (ExpRes). The IT ExpRes Service maintains specialized solutions dedicated to the ExpRes teams in Aker BP. This includes High-Performance Solutions, Storage and 3D VDI’s virtual clients. The role will operate in a cross functional environment, requiring the ability to navigate in a complex landscape; strategic, tactical, and operational. You must be forward leaning towards new technology since this technology area will change moving forward. Aker BP is in a transition to a new operating supplier (TietoEvry), the right candidate will be involved in shaping our new operating model and new infrastructure. Aker BP have an ‘Azure First’ Cloud policy.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • The overall dedicated IT ExpRes infrastructure, ensuring that it is built and operated according to relevant regulations and best practices.
  • Leading the IT ExpRes professional team on a day-to-day base, although the personnel responsibility lies within the responsibility of the CIC Infrastructure Manager
  • Enabling and orchestrating the delivery of targeted business outcomes by facilitating technical decision-making, in partnership with internal stakeholders and external service partners.

Typical tasks will include:

  • Build and maintain key stakeholder partnerships; Engage with internal stakeholders, service providers and vendors.
  • Establish an infrastructure service strategy and roadmap, including budget and operating standards, in collaboration with engineers and architects.
  • Provide lifecycle management and focus on infrastructure service goals.
  • Management and government of associated vendors and service providers.
  • Supporting infrastructure technology projects and planning.
  • Develops standards, procedures, and processes to support and maintain the infrastructure service domain in collaboration with Cyber Security, DataOps, and Enterprise Architecture; ensure that these are followed.
  • Oversee governance activities related to security and availability, data retention and compliance, architecture, etc.

Qualifications:

  • You effectively apply service management concepts and practices to manage a specialised or complex service domain with high-value contracts.
  • You must provide in-depth technical knowledge and serve as the primary liaison for the IT ExpRes service. You have experience with Linux hpc-clusters, 3DVDI (Citrix), and storage solutions used for seismic data.
  • You are familiar with the ExpRes Software portfolio in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Minimum Batchelor’s degree in relevant discipline. Relevant experience can compensate for formal education.
  • Fluent in English and Norwegian, both verbal and written.
