Job Objective / Purpose
The Medical Claim Encoder receives medical claim documents from the Documentations Team and accurately encodes claim details in MedFlex in order for the claim adjudicator to process the claim.
This role will be hired under Health Delivery System, Inc. (HDSI) - a subsidiary of RelianceUnited.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Checks for the completeness of attachments and claims details in the documents received from the Documentation Associate .
- Encodes claim information in Medflex for claim adjudication.
- Verifies encoded information vs the details in claim document to prevent discrepancies.
- Ensures that all complete claims are encoded in Medflex within the agreed SLA.
- Performs other related tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
Background and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical field, business or any related degree
- At least 1 year(s) of solid working experience in the related field is required for this position.
- Ability to work onsite and extend beyond company operating hours when needed.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiar with health insurance / HMO policies and coverages and ICD, preferred.
- Exceptional critical thinking skills and is able to investigate root causes and recommend solutions.
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking and time-management skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Adheres consistently to the RCI values.
