SoC Technical Specialist, IP Verification


The team you will be a part of


Our Mobile Networks Business Group is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front-runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN).

You will be part of our Digital Front End (DFE) ASIC team where more than 170 professionals are working on the Nokia ReefShark family of System-on-Chips (SoC): ReefShark | Nokia Networks


We are responsible for custom silicon which is a key element in our strategy to gain technology leadership in 5G networks. We are working with state-of-the-art tools and have access to the latest silicon technologies. Our team is diverse, with 13 different nationalities represented. The working language is English.


What you will learn and contribute to


You will work in an IP team together with RTL and HLS (High-Level Synthesis) design engineers, algorithm modeling engineers and verification engineers. You are ready to share your knowledge and skills with the people you work with. You are a team player but can also work independently. You communicate well in a multi-cultural team in English.


Depending on your work experience and profile, you can work as an individual contributor or as a verification lead. In the lead position, you should have the motivation and skills to lead, support, teach and coach less experienced verification engineers. As a lead, you should also possess good planning skills and have a good overall understanding of RTL design and reference modeling.


As part of our team, you will:

  • Create, maintain and execute verification plans
  • Develop test environments and test benches
  • Implement test cases and formal checks
  • Run simulations and regressions and debug the design
  • Write verification documentation and participate in documentation reviews
  • Continuously improve tools, methods, and processes
  • Participate in a culture of learning, innovation, and renewal

Your skills and experience


You have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Pre-silicon RTL verification experience from industrial companies in multiple ASIC or FPGA projects
  • Strong skills in common RTL verification methodologies, tools, and languages such as OVM, UVM, System Verilog, VHDL, Verilog.
  • Good working attitude and cooperation skills in a multicultural team
  • Fluent spoken and written English

It would be nice if you also had some of these skills:

  • Understanding of digital signal processing and related mathematics
  • Understanding of cellular networks and related technologies (4G/5G)
  • Experience in designing debugging methods
  • Experience or understanding of High-Level-Synthesis and High-Level-Verification
  • Bash, TCL or Python skills
